In modern-day scientific studies, yoga is repeatedly being empirically validated as an effective treatment for a variety of health concerns, including but not limited to excess stress, tension, anxiety, depression, back pain, fibromyalgia, insomnia, self-esteem, body image, eating disorders, PTSD, ADD, and much more. Yoga combines physical postures, breathing exercises, guided meditations, and specific principles of living to support you on your journey towards holistic health. It is an ancient mindfulness practice that was developed through intentional exploration and careful observation of the human mind and body experience.
The benefits of doing yoga are endless, but most people report feeling calmer and clearer after every session. The process of cultivating awareness of your body, breath, and mind shifts your mind to a very useful brain state and helps you to access wisdom and resources that often get unconsciously dismissed. But the process can be intimidating for some, especially for those just beginning their practice, or if you are working with an injury or disability. Private yoga sessions are offered to anyone seeking to learn or explore yoga, whether for general wellness or as a complement to mental health services.
I offer a safe space for you to begin to explore yoga and become confident in practicing with a group. My teaching style is gentle, encouraging, and compassionate, meeting each and every student where they are, and adapting the practice accordingly. No prior yoga experience or minimum level of fitness is required.
I specialize in slow flow hatha for beginners and integrative yoga therapy for mental health. My passion is in spreading yoga to people who are not familiar with it. For more advanced practitioners looking to expand their practice I recommend seeking out a different teacher.
